Senior Compositors, LookDev at DNEG work closely with VFX Supervisors and 2D Supervisors to composite the numerous elements that complete a visual effects shot, including live-action and computer graphic elements.  

The work will vary from blue/green screen extractions to complex CG integration. Taking part in client reviews and daily sessions, our Compositors follow production methodologies and develop creative approaches to problem solving while also performing all aspects of composite VFX design.  They ensure that final work is technically sound and maintain the continuity and aesthetics of the client’s vision.

Must Have

  • Minimum of 5 years VFX industry experience as a Compositor
  • Experience using Nuke
  • A knowledge and interest in photography and practical lighting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A good eye for composition and understanding of color.
  • Ability to deliver work by deadlines
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Linux systems
  • Python and/or expression scripting
  • Lookdev experience

Please note that this is a unionized position and will be covered by a collective agreement between DNEG and IATSE, in the coming months. As a unionized employee, you will be required to join the union and will benefit from the conditions set out in the collective agreement. Union dues will be required once the collective agreement is in place.
 
The base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 CAD to $145,000 CAD. DNEG salary ranges are determined by function, department, level, and location. An individual's pay within a given range is determined by their transferrable or job-related skills and work experience. Salary ranges are modified from time to time based on external market data collected through our third-party surveys.
